The Geelong Bollard DIY Series The Geelong Baywalk Bollards are a series of sculptures located along the Baywalk in Geelong, Australia.

There are more than 100 of these huge painted icons guiding visitors along the foreshore walking/cycling track from Rippleside Park, through Waterfront Geelong to Limeburners Point and the Botanic Gardens. They represent a fascinating and fun chronicle of the city’s past, focusing on some of the unique characters who played a part.

Artist
The colourful bollards are the work of Australian artist Jan Mitchell (1940 – 17 March 2008). Jan was commissioned by the City of Greater Geelong to transform old timbers and piles from a city pier, demolished in the 1980s, into remarkable works of art that stop young and old in their tracks. Sadly, Jan is no longer with us but she has left a lasting legacy which will put a smile on just about anyone who comes face to face with these unique and much-loved pieces of public art.

Our lovely Hooray Hoop Embroidery shop is locating on the lively Pakington Street, Geelong West. Starting of the year 2023, our community event Pako Festa is back (after Covid19) and celebrating their 40^th (Event established in 1983) we are so thrilled to be designing the iconic Geelong patterns to join our community. Simple and Cheerful is the theme, just like our life here in Geelong 😊
